HATTIE F. BECKER Hattie F. Becker, 86, Emporia, died Aug. 20, 1994, at the home. Services will be at 10 a.m.

He was an automobile salesman for Busload of Kansas parolees upsets KC police A Kansas City police sergeant was startled last month when he saw a Kansas prison bus parked near 11th Street and Troost Avenue. A uniformed guard, armed with a shotgun, was standing outside while another guard unloaded people from the back of the bus. The men exiting the bus signed a piece of paper, were handed their property and then walked away; some headed north, some south, some east. Kansas corrections officials say what the police sergeant witnessed was a mistake. The prisoners were supposed to be dropped off at the Kansas City, bus station.

Raymond Roberts, Kansas deputy secretary of facility management, sent a letter of apology last week to Kansas City police attorney Dale Close. "The bus driver headed east and apparently passed the big sign that says 'Welcome to Close said. "It was the bus driver's error. It wasn't intentional."
